what is lien foreclosure to me, if we have not received payments

what does it mean to do a foreclosure of lien? we did cleaning for a short rental property privately owned and the owner did not pay, so we are trying to collect payment, but she isnt moving forward. the site site have to do a foreclosure of lien, and i am not sure what that means
