What do i do if Contractor says i need to take care of the fact that i sent preliminary letter?

Texas

i used level set to send a preliminary letter on 914 and again on 9/15 because i learned the person who hired me was actually a subcontractor so i needed to add the actual GC on the letter. on here is says the letter was sent on 9/17 and i received payment from the person who hired me on 9/17 in the afternoon about 5:15pm. i did sign a waiver for him where i waived any lien rights. he sent e a picture of the letter today and said i needed to take care of this or he would be taking the letter to his lawyer tomorrow morning. From what i know the letter is only a notice to the parties letting them know i have yet to be paid. i did let the homeowner and GC know i received payment that same day. is there anything else i need to do on here or legal wise for this?

It sounds like there's a fair amount of confusion on the part of the party receiving your letter. If no lien has been filed, there is no further action to take that I am aware of. From your post it appears you have already let other parties in interest know that no further money is owed and that they can effectively disregard the notice letters sent. If your hiring contractor believes your letter is actually notice of a lien, it may help to instruct him that no lien has been filed. Alternatively you could simply discuss with him what he feels needs to be handled.
