I recently paid to put a mechanics lein on a property that owes me money for services I had done. I just received a call from a woman claiming to be the new owner of the property. Supposedly, she purchased the property before I filed the lein. I never knew the property was for sale and I had spoken with the owners several times before I filed the lein. The new owner is now telling me to withdraw the lein but I have still yet to get paid what is owed to me. To be honest, I am questioning if there really is a new owner or are the people who owe me money trying to get out of this lein. I am unsure what to do at this point. Any advice would be great...thank you.
