What additional docs do I need.

California

I am the Primary contractor. Project has passed final inspection and home owner refuses to pay final payment. All sub contractors have been paid.

As a GC, you have 60 days from recordation of a Notice of Completion (NOC) to record a lien, or 90 days after completion of the entire project if no NOC is recorded. If you're not getting paid, don't let that deadline pass you by, if it has not already, before your record a lien. You must file suit within 90 days of recording the lien. Good luck.

Hi, I have a similar question in California. I thought we had to wait for the Notice of Completion to be filed, it hasn't, and I do not know if the NOC will ever be filed...we are a sub to a GC, and it has been way more than 90 days since we completed our scope. They did string us alone for 3-4 months saying engineers were working on finishing, but now, 5 months later, I don't see any movement. Do we have any recourse left to get paid? I just sent a notice of intent...
