Congratulations! Once you've been paid in full, a lien release will need to be filed in the county clerk's office where the claim was filed. You'll need to act relatively quickly as there may be some penalties if not released in a timely fashion

Under NJ Stat. §2A:44A-30 , once the claim has been satisfied it must be released within either 30 days of payment, or within 7 days from a written demand to release. Failure to do so could lead to liability to any actual damages incurred by the owner, or any court costs/attorneys fees the owner might incur to remove the claim themselves.
