Wisconsin mechanics lien claimants must execute a Satisfaction of Claim of Lien (which is different than an ordinary lien waiver) once they've been paid. Otherwise, they could face penalties. So, once you've been paid, it's important to provide the other party with a release of your lien claim.
Some claimants will file a mechanics lien release on their own. However, all that's required is to fill out, sign it, and and deliver it to the other party - and they can record it at that point. You can find a free, downloadable template for that form here: Wisconsin Full Satisfaction of Lien Form.
