We invoice retainage in August for a TX project. We're getting a Levelset notice Lien deadline is 11/15. We want to know why this deadline is now instead of 12/15.
The legal analysis would depend on an analysis of the kind of project (commercial versus residential), the month in which the unpaid work was performed (the date of the invoice is not determinative), where on the project hierarchy you are (subcontractor, sub-subcontractor, etc.), whether you provided previous notice of retainage, whether the owner filed an affidavit of completion, etc.
