I am trying to create a credit application for my business. In regards to terms, is it just a matter of picking which terms I want? Or is there something I have to do once I've chosen them? Is there some sort of legal process I have to go through?

Your credit application is your document to choose what the terms of your sale will be. From the collection perspective, we prefer more information from the customer then less. Keeping in mind your new customer today could be your debtor tomorrow you will be trying to collect from.
