THIS IS A BONDED JOB. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO AT THIS POINT?

Massachusetts

We supplied material to customer for this job. They are now telling me that it might be a few more weeks for payment. What should i do at this point because it looks like the bond rights might be very close to expiring

I suggest you send a claim notice. If it is a bond issued in a non-government job, you have to follow the requirements of the bond in making a claim. They frequently require certified mail notice to the general contractor or the obligee on the bond and the bond issuer. If the job involves a county, city, town, district or other political subdivision of the commonwealth or other public instrumentality, and you are a supplier to a subcontractor, you must send a notice to the general contractor within sixty five days of your last performing work or supplying materials.

If you do not have a contract with the general, you must notify general of claim within 65 days of delivery vie certified mail with name of subcontractor
