The project i was on was shut down by the city. Is the owner still responsible for paying me?

FloridaConstruction ContractLien on Funds

I had a contract with an individual and he did not get his city work permits and was shut down, I however had nothing to do with his permits or with his job being shut down. My question is: Is he still obligated to fulfill the contract we both signed? He is also a Chinese National and is now trying to use his position to force me out of my home as well. His Wife was my Realtor.

I'm not sure how the lack of permits connects to you being forced out of your home, but you should contact an attorney in your area so they can help you work through this. This situation is going to be too complicated to address online.
