The homeowner show the house before the six-month expiration date on my mechanics lien

ColoradoMechanics Lien

I filed and intent to lien and a mechanic's lien recorded with the clerk and recorder within 10 days of the intent and my deadline was February 28th 2021 I filed that mechanics lien August 28th 2020 they sold the house on February 9th just before I was going to file my final paperwork for foreclosure so what I'm asking is is it illegal for them to sell the house before the six months and my mechanics lien expiration?

Good afternoon, I am sorry about the nonpayment and the matter. You asked if them selling the property before the time that you had to file the suit was "illegal." It is not. There is no law that provides that the owner of the real property must not sell during the period that you must file suit. The more important question is why the lien was not cleared. To know that, an attorney would need to review the filings and get more facts to provide you legal advice. Reach out to Colorado construction attorneys for advice.
