The GC that hired me is unlicensed. Does this mean we'd be considered the GC for lien purposes?

ArizonaLicenses

If I am general contractor and was hired by another general contractor (outside of the state), come to find out that the general contractor without a Arizona register of contractor’s license. My question is would I be the default general if they do not have a license for lien purposes?

That may depend on the context of the question. However, since most of our questions here at the expert center relate to mechanics lien law: Note that under the Arizona mechanics lien statute, the "original contractor (often referred to as the "general contractor") is the party hired directly by the property owner. Parties hired by someone other than the property owner will generally be deemed subcontractors on the job.
