Hello, I have a mechanics lien for roof filed against my homestead property. I am in a chapter 13 bankruptcy and looking to convert to a chapter 7. My mortgage company has granted a modification agreement so I may continue payments and keep my home. However there is the problem of the mechanics lien. I am negotiating with the contractors attorney on payments and we have reached a payment agreement. What is the likelihood that the first mortgage company would accept a subordination from the contractor? Also I need an attorney.
