I hired a mechanic to fix my truck, he had my truck for approx. a month and a half I paid the majority of the charges but he blew my engine making my truck unfixable in an email he sent me. They have threatened me with a Mechanics lien and refuse to let me get my truck back. They will not provide dated paper receipts of parts purchased and refer me to an atty that says he has no information will have to get it from his client but will not return my calls or provide any information to me. I have not been notified of any liens but they are charging me interest and storage fees even though they refuse to let me get my truck. I have filed a civil case asking for 2400.00 in damages and court/filing fees. Is it legal for them to keep my truck? I have tried to find a way to solve this but they keep adding charges every time I make them mad. So that is why I filed the civil case in Tavares FL court, I also cannot find their business listed in the sunbiz.org website.
