A vendor filed a mechanic's lien, filed a law suit but didn't serve me w/the lawsuit. I need to get the mechanic's lien removed.
Good morning! More information is needed; a petition or motion to release the mechanics lien is possible if there are sufficient grounds to do so. It is also possible to secure a bond to release the lien and free up title on the property if there is a dispute as to the validity of the lien. Most courts are fairly liberal due to COVID 19 on the time to serve a defendant (generally 60 days after filing of a lawsuit) - and if the plaintiff has been trying to serve the lawsuit, you should be wary of the fact that a plaintiff can seek alternate means to serve the lawsuit, including publication in a newspaper if authorized by a Judge.
