Received Notice of Intent to Lien by Mistake

ColoradoNotice of Intent to Lien

A notice of intent to lien was sent to my residential property. I have no association with any of the contractors, businesses listed on said lien. Verizon Communications is listed as the property owner, while my address is listed as the property that is owned/public entity. What is the best way to resolve this issue and have my residence removed from all association with this lien. I believe my address was noted in error.

Whether the filing of a lien was intentional or the requirements weren't met to enforce a lien, property owners or other interested parties may need to take steps to have an insufficient lien removed. There are a few options to pursue when an improper lien is filed against your property. 1. Immediately dispute the lien (whether through statutorily provided preliminary means, a demand to/against the claimant, or a full blown lawsuit) 2. Force the claimant to file suit to enforce the lien in a shorter period (if that is available in your state) 3. Just wait it out A Colorado construction attorney is likely a next step you should pursue. This post on invalid liens may also be a helpful resource to you: Invalid Lien Filed on Your Property?
