Preliminary Notices and Lien Rights for same jobs site, different job name and contract amount.

CaliforniaCollections

Hello, I have two Preliminary Notices filed for the same job site, same general contractor, same lender and same owner. The only differences are the job names and the contract amount. If the 1st job's lien rights have expired can I use the 2nd job's lien rights to get paid what is owed for the 1st job?

It is possible you have multiple works of improvement performed pursuant to separate contracts located at the same project location --- in which case, each work of improvement could very well have its own deadline. I would play it conservative and do NOT depend on the "2nd job" to get paid for work furnished on the "1st job."

I wanted to follow-up and confirm you’ve been paid on this project site situation that required separate notices. If I can further assist your company with any unpaid invoices, please feel free to call or email. My firm can collect for you even when lien rights have expired or were never pursued.
