Once a lien is filed, are you allowed to call the customer?

Colorado

I've filed the lien and now I want to know if we can contact our customer via phone to continue our attempts to collect.

Hello, You are free to contact the debtor by phone to attempt to collect if you are the creditor. If a third-party contacts them on your behalf the state and federal debt collection rules apply and must be followed to the letter. While you can call you should avoid harassment such as calling many times, calling at night, and any threats and other related activity. You can be liable for that. You are likely better off hiring an attorney to draft a demand and then decide if you want to file suit or a foreclosure suit.
