As a home owner, should I file a Notice of Completion for every job a contractor finishes or only larger jobs?

I rarely see a homeowner record a notice of completion on any project. These are mostly found on public works projects. However, it is a good idea for a homeowner to record one if you want to shorten the time for contractors to be able to record a lien on your project. It greatly shortens the time, so a contractor who waits may be out of luck if they wait too long to lien.
