No work started by contractor and already a lien on my property???

Florida

I'm refinancing and come to find out a lien is on my property when the contractor hasn't even began work. The reason he hasn't began is because I told him not after the refinance because I wanted the refinance money to pay the work in full. The work hasn't even started and a lien has been placed.

Sorry and the property owner and not the contractor

Technically the person should not have filed the lien if he did not provide materials or services yet. I strongly recommend that you look for an attorney knowledgeable in construction disputes to prepare a demand letter, explaining the consequences of filing a fraudulent lien. Good luck!
