No prelim information provided

I recently requested information from a contractor in order to file a prelim. I have not gotten a response after requesting said information. How would I proceed if no payment has been made for the materials furnished and no prelim info has been given?

Tell the contractor that under Civil Code Sec. 8208: " A direct contractor shall make available to any person seeking to give preliminary notice the following information: (a) The name and address of the owner. (b) The name and address of the construction lender, if any." If that does not work, you can go to the County Recorder and research the owner by the property address. Good luck.
