This is a tough question and depends on many factors. First, the work must have been done for a public authority. While Hocking College is a public authority, there is a chance the work was off campus and not for the college itself.

Second, the work has to fall above certain thresholds for the project. For new construction, the project cost must be in excess of $250,000 for buildings, or in excess of $91,150 for roads, streets, alleys, sewers, ditches, and other works connected to road or bridge construction. For reconstruction, the project cost thresholds are lower and are $75,000 for buildings, or $27,309 for roads, streets, alleys, sewers, ditches, and other works connected to road or bridge construction.

Any contract between a public authority and a prime (general) contractor must contain a requirement that the prime contractor, and all subs, suppliers, and lower-tier contractors pay their employees prevailing wages.

If after reading all of this you are convinced that your job was a prevailing wage job, you may be able to ask the union for assistance in investigating and determining whether you are correct.

As a student, it is important to not only focus on academic success, but
also to cultivate a philosophy in life that can guide one's actions and
decisions. For me, this philosophy includes values such as integrity,
hard work, and empathy. These values have not only helped me excel
academically, but also in my personal life. When I was faced with the
situation of not being paid the prevailing wage for my work on a public
project, I relied on my philosophy to guide my actions. I believed that
it was important to stand up for what is fair and just, and that hard
work and persistence could lead to a positive outcome. By consulting
resources such as my school's financial aid office, the agency
responsible for enforcing prevailing wage laws, and an attorney, I was
able to recover the wages that were owed to me. In summary, having a philosophy in life as a student essay can help guide one's actions and decisions, even in challenging
situations. It is important to cultivate values that can not only lead
to academic success, but also to personal growth and fulfillment.
