Need guidance with South Carolina Business Taxes

South Carolina

We are an Architectural Casework/Millwork company in Virginia. We manufacture our casework here in Virginia, but hire subcontractors to install the product at the job site in South Carolina (and other states). When filing for a business license in South Carolina I was told that we were not compliant with the South Carolina Secretary of State. After contacting them, I was told that they need our SC Form 1120S. We do not file taxes in SC or the other states because even though the projects are in those states, we are manufacturing the product here and shipping it to that state where the outside subcontractor installs the product. According to our Accountant, we are not subject to taxes in that state. Can you tell me if this is correct?
