My contractor is threatening to file a lien on my house because I am not willing to pay him for work that is not yet complete. Do I have any recourse?
Whether you owe depends upon the term of your contract. If you are concerned about a potential mechanic's lien, have an attorney write a letter to the contract warning that if he files a mechanics lien you may sue for slander of title.
