My company functions so that we have two customer bases, roofing contractors and homeowners. How should I identify my company when creating a project in Z-Lien?

Colorado

We do business across the united states, so the state I select will be one of those in which we conduct business. Since we pre-fund contractors, follow up for customers with their insurance agents on residential roofing claims, and have contracts signed by both aforementioned parties; I am not sure how to identify my company's role when creating projects. Thank you in advance for your help, Jordan Brock

Good question. For some of the more unique participants in the construction industry, there isn't a clear-cut traditional description for the work being performed. The same is true within the zlien system. Where a party is contracted both with the property owner and a party performing work on the job, potentially, they might be classified as a general contractor hired by owner in the zlien system. While the duties performed might not be those typical of a general contractor, within the zlien platform, most parties hired by the owner who also coordinate the work of other parties are classified as a general contractor. Of course, each job is different, and the role and responsibility of a party may change from project to project. In that case, a zlien user's "role" or "classification" could be subject to change, as well.
