My client kept buying time so that the 90 days would expire. What are my options?

CaliforniaConstruction Contract

I finished an electrical project 4 months. One of the HOA board members kept buying time, he kept requiring me many things so that he would buy time. Now that the 90 passed, I received an e-mail yesterday stating that the the HOA only owns me about 6% of what the HOA really owns me. What could I do? I am a father of 3 small children and I am the only bread winner. This is really sad.

You said "he kept requiring ... many things so that he would buy time." If this means you were still performing work, you may still have time to record a lien? If your time to record a lien has expired, you still have a breach of contract claim - 4 years on a written contract and 2 on an oral contract. If you want to discuss, feel free to call or email. You may not have lien rights but you still have contract rights. I suggest you engage legal counsel and sue the party you contracted with for payment. Also, it is possible that if the HOA asked you to do any work during the 90 period, you still have lien rights. In short, engage an attorney through Levelset and get concrete, direct advice based on the facts of your circumstance. I wish you good luck.
