Our contractor overbilled us by about a $125,000. We have a final bill of $21000 that we do not believe is due. He’s threatening mechanics lien on our home. We ended our agreement with him several months ago because the windows were wrong, the foundation was wrong, the framing was wrong, the foundation was wrong, and we were overcharged for all of it. Looking for advice. Can we bill him what it cost to fix all of his errors?
If the work was not in accordance with the plans and/or was defective, you should be entitled to recover the cost to correct or replace, as necessary, the work. I do not know what can be or needs to be done about the foundation.
