I'm Painting subcontractor located in Maryland working in the district of Columbia, since almost 8 months ago will trying to get settle with this General Contractor but at this point, he stops responding my calls and answering my emails. there is one property still selling units and one of the units we never finish due to an unpaid invoice's situation, he is in serious financial problems, do you think still time to file a Lien to the property. property is still active under District of Columbia laws because have still permit posted. just let me know f there is any chance to get some of my money back. thanks

You may be able to file a lien if the project is not yet complete. If the GC has been paid by the Owner and the GC is having its own financial troubles, you may need to alter your strategy in collecting funds.
