Mechanic Leon

VermontMechanics Lien

I have done work on my son’s home in recent years to help make the place more livable. The expectation was that the money I put out along with the labor I payed for would be paid back when he and his wife could. I also loaned money’s for the purchase of a font end loader, small bull dozer ,one 650 dump truck ,a John Deer tractor , a Kenworth log truck with trailer. All these loans were made opened with no date for repayment but considered a loan. My desire here is to put this in legal terms to protect myself because his wife is filing for divorce and need to know I can get payed. Do I file a mechanic’s lien ?

Hi, thanks for reaching out to the Levelset legal community. There are a lot of factors at play here, so your question might be too situational for an attorney to answer in this public forum. You may wish to consider consulting an attorney privately. Here are some attorneys from our directory in your area: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/construction-lawyer/vermont/
