Material Vendor Leins on Subcontrators

Oregon

We are a General Contractor working on commercial tenant spaces. We contract directly with subcontractors. Our subcontractors purchase materials from material vendors as part of our contracts with them. e.g. electricians purchase the lighting packages and glazing vendors purchase glass and door kits for installation. My question is if our subcontractors don't pay the material suppliers (or went bankrupt) can the materials suppliers place liens on our client's buildings? Also, do they have to submit a right to lien to the building owner?

Thank you for reaching out to the Levelset legal community. If you are in need of specific advice for a current legal situation, you may want to consider reaching out to a licensed attorney in your state directly at their office. This forum is public, so it may not be the right place to discuss a sensitive legal issue. Levelset provides a list of attorneys in each state here: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/experts-by-state/ . From that directory you may find a law firm in your area to call privately.
