Lien transferred to a security at the clerk's . 1)Steps I need to do now? & Does this reduce the timing to enforce it?

FloridaMechanics Lien

My Florida Mechanical Lien was transferred to a security and recorded at the clerk of courts. 1)What are the steps I need to do now? 2) Do I need to create a new Claim of Lien attached to the security or not ? 3) Does this reduce the timing I have to enforce the lien ?

1) You do not need to do anything. The transfer to security removes the lien from the property but the money (or surety) that was posted acts as the collateral for the lien. The clerk should have posted the principle, 2 yrs of interest and 1,000or 25% of the face value to cover your attorney fees. If an action to purse the security is initiated, you can actually move the Court to increase the bond amount to cover the additional attorney fees expended. 2) No. You do not need to create new lien. Do not forget your contractor's final payment affidavit if you are in direct privity with the owner. 3) No. This does not reduce the time to enforce the lien. If they file a notice of contest, then the time would be reduce to 60 days instead of one year.
