Lien filed against property

MinnesotaMechanics Lien

I had a lien filed against a property I own by a sub who was not paid by the contractor I hired and I paid contractor in full. Now the dub has filed paperwork against the property as he hasn’t been paid. What can I do?

You could:

  1. Negotiate a settlement out of your pocket.

  2. Sue the contractor who did not pay the sub or convince the contractor to pay the sub

  3. You could wait and see if the lienholder foreclosed on the lien thru a law suit within one year of last efforts on the job as that is what is required.

If the lienholder sues they can get their legal fees and court costs paid so take it seriously.
