We are currently working on a job with a Subcontractor, who is contracted with a General Contractor. We are acting as a Sub-Subcontractor for this project. We have not completed work on the project. The project is private. The Subcontractor is 78 days past due on a billing to us. Can we file a lien on the project even though we're still activity working on the project? I'm getting mixed information on the Levelset website FAQ.
Under Civil Code 8414, you have to be done providing work. You need a preliminary lien before that though.
