Some construction and carpentry businesses are able to continue work in Los Angeles County as essential businesses, according to this publication from the county. It looks like carpenters' work can continue as long as the work is to maintain the safety, sanitation, or essential operation of a property or an essential business. Further, construction projects seem to generally be allowed as long as proper distancing and other guidance is followed. So, if it's a construction site that's being worked on, work should presumably be able to continue. At the least, that'd seem like work necessary to support other essential businesses that are allowed to operate. If you're still unsure, though - feel free to contact the county by phone at (833)-238-4450 or by email at DisasterHelpCenter@lacounty.gov. Or, the website is LACountyHelpCenter.org. Further, this live tracker from Levelset should be useful: Can I do Construction Work In my State?
