I did a job for a client that I knew his partner for a while I told him he could pay me the day we finished the job the pay we finished he didn't pay us i've contacted him and nothing I'm just worried about not getting paid because i'm a small business and not getting paid hurts us. I am sorry about the issues. Did you provide a preliminary notice as required? If not and your work is all done, you cannot file a lien.
You, however, can sue for breach of contract. What is the amoutn due? Was there a written contract? If this is under $3500, small claims is the route to take. If more, then it is either Justice or Superior court.
