Sometimes we are the sub to the sub that is contracted through the GC or owner. With us being on the lower tier subs, are we still protected and can we still lien a job?
Lien rights extend down to a sub-subcontractor, which is the level you are at if you are subcontractor to the subcontractor who contracted with the GC. You should contact a construction attorney to prepare your lien to make sure it is done correctly.
