If the preliminary notice time frame has expired can I still file one in CA?

California

Our customer did not inform us that there were two jobs within a job so we invoice in March as one job. Because of that now our preliminary notice window shows expired since first delivery was 3/4. Can I still file a preliminary notice?

Preliminary notices can be served at anytime, but are valid only to preserve lien rights for the period of 20 days prior to when it is served, and everything forward. See for more: https://www.levelset.com/preliminary-notice/california-preliminary-notice-faqs/

Thank you. Can I file a lien for non payment if I wasn't able to file a preliminary notice?
