If the deadline to file a lien passed what are my legal options in Washington State?

Washington
Anonymous Contractor

I am a subcontractor that provided services to a general contractor on multiple projects. I have not been paid for any of the services I provided. I relied on continual promises that I would be paid. Now that I am looking into taking the next steps it appears that the lien deadline passed. What are my options at this point?

If the contractor is bonded and licensed, you can attach the bond but only for $6,000.00

  1. Send a demand letter to the GC demanding payment and warning of a lawsuit if no payment is made.
  2. If (1) doesn’t work, then file suit against the GC and its bond.
