If I filed a mechanics lien and haven’t heard back from customer who won’t pay what do I do now

I did work for a homeowner him knowing I’m not a licensed contractor I live in AZ none of the invoices for the work I had done for him went over $1000 so legal for me to do so in AZ he won’t pay me what he owes I have told him every day after a week of over due payment is $100 more not sure what else to do

If you are not a licensed contractor, there is not much you can do. Unlicensed contractors cannot sue in Arizona to recover money in Arizona's courts, and they cannot record mechanic's liens. If you were not licensed at the time you did the work, you should release the lien because there is a $5,000 fine for recording an invalid lien. Your only option is to try to work something out with the homeowner. But you don't have much in the way of leverage if you do not have a contractor's license.
