If a small business owner has his son perform minimal hours of work at a job site, is he required to pay prevailing wages to his son?

If a business owner's son is performing work as an employee of the business, then that employee would need to be paid prevailing wages just as any other employee would. Now, if the minimal work was performed merely as a favor or if payment was otherwise not expected for that work - then that situation is less likely to invoke prevailing wage rights.
