Payment will not automatically release a mechanics lien - whether that's partial or full payment. Still, when a lien has been partially paid, sometimes the customer will expect you to act - whether that's releasing the lien in full, partially releasing the lien, or amending the filing. Ultimately, though, that will put a claimant in a bit of a tough spot.
