I work for a handyman company. I quit because even under mask mandates, customers did not wear masks in their own home

Maryland

I am a drywall finisher/painter for a company. Customers will not always wear masks or stay at 6'. Painting a room only to change colors is under construction as 'essential'. Do I have any recourse so I don't have to jeopardize my family?

It's too bad you quit because he could have fired you for refusing to show up. You would have had a good argument for unemployment benefits. That said, find an employer who cares about its employees. Lastly, see if you can report the company to MOSH for violating safety standards.
