I was losing my home I signed a contract over 5 years ago. No lien was ever filed, never received a judgement, etc. is it valid?

CaliforniaConstruction Contract

i want to know if the contract is still valid if the person who loaned me money to stay out of forclosure never filed a lien on my property and it is over 5 years ago. Is there a statue of limitations on when they can file. this contract basically gives the person my home and i signed under duress to stay in my home and not get kicked out. I don't know what do or where to start research.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Regarding where to start research or look for help - there are a number of California organizations organized to help those in need of legal services who might not be able to afford them. Central California Legal Services, LawHelpCA.org, The Campaign for Justice, and the California Bar Association all either assist individuals in need with access to legal resources or provide a directory of other organizations that do so. These are just a few of the many California organizations organized to help California residents navigate legal issues. While our expertise is in construction liens, liens like in the situation above are a little outside of our wheelhouse - so I would be uncomfortable providing information on this situation, especially without more information on the agreement and circumstances surrounding it. Good luck!
