That does not sound like a good situation. It's always a good idea, at first, to make sure that you are safe - even if that means not working on a particular job. Although, if leaving the particular job seems necessary, it is always a good idea to talk with the hiring party, and other interested parties to keep them informed and to find a way to resolve the issue.

Other than that, there are differing ways that one could proceed. If there is specific evidence of repeated violence / threats a restraining order could be sought. In Florida, a restraining order (injunction for protection) can be obtained pursuant to 1) domestic violence; 2) dating violence; 3) sexual violence; 4) repeat violence; and 5) stalking. A petitioner can file for the injunction in the clerk of court's office.

Additionally, a lawsuit could be initiated against the threatening party to the extent the actions are interfering with work or otherwise causing damage.
