I placed a lien on the property for failure to pay and I just heard that the house was sold without DALENE being paid for
It's difficult to evaluate why the property was sold without paying off your lien without more information. A couple of reasons why this may have occurred are as follows: 1) the lien may have been invalid because it wasn't recorded within 90 days of the last day of work or because a foreclosure lawsuit was not filed within 6 months of the day the lien was recorded; 2) another reason could be that the lender foreclosed on its deed of trust against the house and the deed of trust was recorded before you started working on the project.
