It's not very clear what is going on in your situation. But, if you have just now filed your prelien for the work--it only covers the 20 days before. So, the time line needs to be clear. When did you start work, when did you file a prelim lien, when was the job done (or is it still going), and have you recorded a lien.
Liens aside, you might have breach of contract rights. But, you'll want to have a lawyer read your contract and get the story so you know exactly what those rights are.
A good construction lawyer can help you with these things, but it seems that your situation is complicated enough where you'll need to walk them through it on the phone.
