I hope you're on your way to recovering payment! First, it's worth asking "Does a bonded off California lien need to be released?" Under § 8424(c), it would appear that a filed lien is automatically released once the bond is recorded. It states: "On recordation of the bond, the real property is released from the claim of lien and from any action to enforce the lien." Thus, it would seem unnecessary for a claimant to release their lien since the property has already been released. Regardless, if a claimant wishes to release their lien, they may do so by filing a release of their mechanics lien with the county recorder in the county where the lien was recorded. You can find a copy of that form here: California Release of Mechanics Lien Form.
