I don't have the GC's address.

ColoradoMechanics LienPayment DisputesRight to Lien

Hi! I am looking to file a lien, and unfortantely I am unable to find any real information regarding the general contractor who hired us. I know his phone number, first and last name, and have an email address for the supposed company. I cannot find that company anywhere online, but I do see a different company name associated with the gneral contractor. Is it OK if I send the intent to lien to this address, or how can I make sure I get it to the GC? We have all of the info on the property owner.

Lawyers spend a lot of time sleuthing to determine the right party and the right name. It seems like I am online daily, googling, checking the corporate information on line. You could probably access this information by examining the building permit for the project. If you see a different name in the corporate records, the other name could be a "D/B/A". You could address it to the individual, and list both the corporate name and the "supposed name", at the best address you can find online. You could also ask the owner for the contractor's name and address. You don't have to necessarily tell them why you need it.
