Purchased a property 2.5 years ago had a mechanics lein against the property from electrical contractor filed in March and we closed in jan after the builder defaulted. Does my title insurance take care of that? We are trying to sell our house now and having to deal with all this. Am I still liable to pay this mechanics lein in full or does my title insurance help when its filed after the fact?
