I was contracted for addition to home for price not to exceed $40k, client didn’t want breakdown of cost on contract. Approximately 3 weeks into project client demanded job cost breakdown, we agreed to meet to go over details and I received an email the night before that they were terminating contract and demanding a refund due to their own assessment of project cost. I provided a detailed breakdown of labor and materials which exceeded the amount payed based on time spent on project and materials cost.
